Groupon - Canvas On Demand

I purchased a Groupon for printing on canvas from Canvas On Demand from Groupon. After waiting for a month for my order, I found out that Canvas On Demand fills all regular orders before filling Groupon orders. In other words, the service for a Groupon order in different than simply buying from them with their own regular 25% to 50% off promotions. I have requested a refund from both Groupon and Canvas On Demand with no response. Lesson learned: Groupon deals are deals to be very wary of. Many vendors are unable to fulfill their Groupons and/or provide a different level of quality or service than with regular orders. I will not ever shop this vendor or Groupon again.

Sounds like previous posts are either from friends or family. Especially

For the one who attacked the person ( & called them an a*******)who complained for waiting a month.

Such a left wing Liberal thing to do and say.

Every time I see a grouponn for this company, I buy it. I now have 5 beautiful canvas prints hanging in my family room and living room.

This company goes great work, the groupon price is fantastic and I have had a good experience every time. I will keep buying as gifts!!!

I purchased two Groupons for this company. This was to purchase two Holiday Deluxe that were to be delivered during the week of 12/17/12. I put these instructions specifically in the shipping because I did not have room in my freezer to store all this meat for all...

Groupon - Bait and Switch

Update by user Jan 17, 2013

I filed a complain with American Express and they are investigation

Original review posted by user Dec 16, 2012

My wife paid $39.00 for a Groupon which promised $150.00 towards a pair of eyeglasses. When she when to the store she was showed frames that would have been better sold in a 99 cents store. The bait and switch routine was than applied and a decent pair glasses was about $550.00. There were no price tags on the frames and of course the prices for the lens were quoted. She went to another store and bought glasses for about half the price. Groupon refused to refund the $39.00 and suggested that it should be given as a gift - so that one of our family or friends could be ripped off. We are going to small claims court

Avoid Groupon

Groupon lures consumers with "half price" offers and a very "simple" money back guarantee. I bought a half-price offer not realizing that I had less than sixty days to take advantage of the offer or I would lose the promotional value (not my original investment) I tried to invoke the money-back guarantee and Groupon repeatedly refuses to refund my money. Many of the half-price offers are not actually half-price (especially services where a company offers similar deals to new customers) I told Groupon that the window (around 60 days) was shorter than any deal I'd ever seen and was shocked that it had already expired. Too bad - I failed to read the "fine print." They also use an annoying trick where you buy something and you have to wait at least a day -- that keeps many more customers from actually using their Groupon. It's no accident that Groupon's stock price has lost 66% in value over the last 15 months or so. In my opinion, the best solution is to avoid Groupon and you'll avoid unnecessary impulse buys and the predatory "gotcha" practices.

Groupon & GadgetPop.com

I purchased a Groupon for $19.95 for a cell phone charger from GadgetPop.com. Waited until the proper date to order and paid GadgetPop $4.99 for shipping fees as well. Both Groupon and GadgetPop.com were paid. I never received the product. I contacted GadgetPop twice via email - no response. My credit card company verified they received their money. My credit card company is leery of this online site. I contacted Groupon Customer Support who responded by asking for my telephone number which I gave them. BUT I instructed them NOT to give it to GadgetPop because my credit card company thinks they may not be a legitimate company. Groupon CS Elizabeth W basically sent back an email saying "sorry, if I can't give them your telephone number I can't do anything." No forms to register a formal complaint, no refund process, no nothing. WORST Customer Service ever. Up until this point I though Groupon was a decent company although I had seen others who complained of problems with their Groupons. SO BUYER BEWARE - GROUPON WILL NOT BACK UP THEIR OFFERS IN ANY WAY NOR REIMBURSE YOU IF THEY ENTER INTO A GROUPON DEAL WITH A SUSPECT COMPANY!!! I wanted to send Andrew Mason an email giving him the facts on this but alas his Groupon email is not easily found. Guess the CEO does not want to hear why his customer service is less than customer friendly.

Update to this post. I decided after reaching no success with Groupon's CS to file a complaint with the BBB in Chicago.

I did this namely because Groupon is such a large internet company I thought they should be held accountable and because they themselves use the BBB as one method to determine if a company they work with is legit. The Gadget Pop site was not investigated thoroughly IMO. Groupon CS management did respond to my BBB complaint and did process a credit of the amount I paid them. In addition the manager authorized an additional $10 worth of credit for my time and trouble.

This is the only BBB complaint I have ever filed so I was glad to see their agents have clout. I was also glad to see that Groupon finally stepped up to "putting the customer first"...a creed I don't think is well supported by industry anymore.

I will at some point give Groupon another try as my friends do like their services and coupons, but I warn buyers to only purchase Groupons from well-recognized purveyors of goods or services. Seriously consider staying away from small tech company products advertised and stick with Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, etc....

Groupon - 4 hours driving lessons...not for £29

I paid for this deal for my daughter, when I phoned to book the lesson they asked me if she had ever driven..I said only once in a carpark, they said she wasnt a new driver then so they wouldnt book the lesson, the man was rude and aggressive. My husband phoned two days later to try booking again this time saying NO she could not drive. The first lesson was spent totally talking with no driving (1 hour) the second lesson (1hour and half) two minutes of driving rest talking ... the last lesson (1hour and half) five minutes of driving. Each time my daughter got in the car the red petrol light was on ...strange if you intend to teach someone to drive. Its a scam to get you to sign up for a block but due to driving 7 minutes out of four hours they can go and whistle. This was through a school called "Drivin" based just outside Cardiff She has now been on a two hour proper lesson and drove for two hours and really enjoyed it in fact she came back beaming...so just be warned dont part with the cheap £29 option its a sprat to catch a mackeral.....

Beware: Groupon Deal -Android Premium 7 Nextbook

I ordered "$185 for a Premium 8 Google Android 2.3 Touch-Screen Tablet PC ($594.19 Value)" from GROUPON. Waste of money! I had to pay $87.00 ADDITIONAL as Customs to release the product. although it stated All Shipping Included. It was shipped from CHINA ( Dino Direct) Secondly, it clearly states in description of the product that "* Access the Android market" - NOT TRUE it has horrible, malfunctioning, cheaply manufactured 3rd Party Market (Slide) that has NO ACCESS to the Android Market! I have emailed Groupon, no response...I emailed NextbookUS no response, I emailed Dino Direct - no reponse!!!

That is a good start! Please keep me posted - I will certainly appreciate it.

Groupon finally sent me an acknowledgement today stating that will review the case. So if I find out anything on my end, I will update my post.

I have the exact same situation. I contacted them (groupon) and they said they will reimburse me for the 91.08$ of custom fees and they are trying to find a solution so I can return at no fees and get full amount back.

Also sending a Demand letters to their head office and through email + filing a complain to consumer protection organisme available here in Quebec ... more to come!

Groupon not welcome

Groupon or any of the other coupon services doesn't really have a place in the mainstream of our industry. I know of very few products or services, that appeal to the mass market , that any of us could afford to discount in the 30% to 50% range that we could sell large quantities of and then send a check to the coupon company for the other half of the other half of the sale, that wouldn't hammer our businesses. The closest I could come is full color business cards at 50% off that I could then afford to give 45% or 50% revenue to the coupon company. And F/C cards are free on my web site so that won't work either. If I was just starting out or could cut a deal with a carrier for a subsidy that would be different, but the carriers aren't that flexible with us. Groupon Customer Service

Groupon.com may give good deals, but if you ever need an informed cust. svc rep you are out of luck. Recently one of the reps was not trained in their proceedures and refunded my money for a groupon that was unusable due to the company going out of business, to a CLOSED account. The rep from Groupon KNEW the account was closed and had instructed me to delete my old card and put in my new one for my current bank and said he would process my refund that way. Groupon policy is apparently to refund it to the original card ONLY or issue Groupon credit. The rep was not aware of this..he processed the refund and it was sent to a closed account. I am now forced to try and fight the bank whom I was already in arbitration with over misapplied fees. I contacted Groupon several times and they refuse to assist me in any manner.... DONT USE GROUPON.COM.

I have to agee w/ you. Groupon doesn't have customer service.

The groupon guarantee says anytime there's a problem to call and they don't a number. When you email they take forever to respond. Recently I complained about a company that offered a service for one day and then when you called all you got was a full mailbox. Groupon said they would credit my account but didn't and have ignored all my other requests for a refund.

They also emptied my account of purchases made but not used. No more DUPE-ON for me.

Groupon , powerslim acai .co.uk

I bought powerslim acai offer from Groupon ,paid for it but have yet to receive it because Powerslim acai are not accepting payment for postage . This has been going on since June , when you write to powerslim acai , you get an automated reply saying that they are having problems but will be sorting out soon . I have also written to Groupon but they dont know how to get intouch with them either .... DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM POWERSLIM ACAI .CO.UK , THEY ARE FRAUDS , the thing which annoys me is that they do not have a telephone number you can reach them and Groupon sell they products , surely they should have their contact details . Groupon should be responsible if they have sold on behalf of Powerslim acai , I paid Groupon so ultimately Groupon are responsible to get me my products , dont you think ?
