I purchased a Braveman Men's Slim Fit Suits (2-Piece) from Groupon on July 16th and received the item on July 22nd. I tried the suit on that same day.
It did not fit properly and the material was of poor quality. I immediately contact Groupon on July 22nd asking for a refund. (Customer Service is inadequate, there is no one to talk with. Everything must go through email)
I was told no Refund to my original form of payment was allowed.
Only Goupon credit. I insisted but they would not budge.
I was so frustrated that I decided to exchange the suit for a smaller size, thinking that that would be better than nothing.
I was then told that Exchanges were not possible.
This is unacceptable and possible illegal and actionable.
In NY State it is mandatory for all merchants to post, very clearly and in a place which is clearly visible.
For example, "No Refunds, Store Credit Only"
There was nothing explaining Groupon's return policy on the webpage where the item is listed as well as at the checkout page.
You have to dig deep into the website (which takes quite a bit of investigation) to find the refund policy of "no credit to original form of payment."
I do not want "Groupon Buck" = store credit.
I want my money back returned to my MasterCard.
This is a scam obviously forcing customers to continue to shop on their site in order to cash in the Groupon Buck.
If you could help me get my $68 back, I would be most grateful.
PS- I have copies of all the email correspondences.
User's recommendation: Absolutely, positively NO.
Monetary Loss: $68.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
Groupon Cons: Cannot talk to a person, Fraudlent activity, Fraudulent, Misrepresentation of policies for refund to original payment.
