Groupon buyers beware

I purchased a Groupon certificate and when I printed it, the coupon is for a different state where I live. Groupon customer service would not help me. They basically said that I could give the coupon to someone who lives in that area. Wow, big help. Other than that, I am out of luck. They would not refund me because I was past the 3 day grace. 3days-WOW They would not give me credit for another purchase. What kind of store does this? Buyer beware-make one mistake and you will be out of luck to. Groupon cannot succeed by making customers unhappy. Luckily, my lost is only $20.00.

Customer service it TERRIBLE. Groupon cheats you. I purchased a Groupon and used my Groupon bucks as well as a coupon code and I purchased that Groupon for 49$ but for some reason after my purchase and after confirming they can debit 49$ they're really charging me 74$ they're cheaters and they don't care about customer at all. They're a very deceiving company.

We purchased a groupon to Lemos Farm in half moon bay with kids this weekend. When we got there, the small farm were already packed with lines of families and kids. We didn't think it was worth to squeeze us in and spent an hour to wait for a pony ride or haze ride,... etc. So, we decided to return the groupon since it would be way before the expiry date. When I tried to submit cancel request, I found no accessible button and their prompt screen said the return policy has been changed to within three days of purchase. Big wide shock. They used to allow cancellations before expiration. Well... BUT my groupon was purchased on 10/19/16 and I was requesting the refund on 10/21/16! Even a kinder can count it's 3! Alright, I've emailed Groupon and hopefully they stand behind their new short refund policy to issue me a refund.

Bought a deal for frozen yogurt. Went the next day, the business is closed. Right place, right location, etc, etc. Bldg is gutted, phn disc, website defunct. I tell Groupon. They refund me "because I'm within the 3-day grace window" and do nothing else. Um, no. You refund me because the business is a lie and you take the deal down. A WEEK later the deal is still up. I submitted the evidence to google and yelp. Both took less than 24hrs to verify my "claims" and post the business is closed. But a week later Groupon still has the deal live. I've written them three times. They won't take it down. Now that is STEALING. That is CRIMINAL. I will never bu from them again.

Groupon - Lion and Dragon Yoga Bodyworks

Purchased groupon for massage at Lion & Dragon Yoga Bodyworks March 13th, 2016. Went on Lion/Dragon website day of purchase. Quickest appointment was last week of April. Went back on website today, March 29th. Quickest appointment is third week of May. What a ripoff. Contacted Groupon and because it was 16 days old, would not refund my money. Only a credit. Lion/Dragon should have to disclose on their advertising that you cannot get an appointment within 30 days. Or now the 29th day of March, 7 weeks out is quickest appointment. Who wants to schedule a massage for 7 weeks out? Groupon should have some regulation as to timeliness of services provided by the companies who advertise on their site.

BEWARE IF HANDICAPPED OR IN A WHEELCHAIR! I am glad I accidentally ran into this page while searching for a problem product which I purchased with a Groupon. But the experience I would like to share with everyone else here is one which happened in October. Now that I know this forum exists I will be sure to add other situations that are still in flight. I purchased 2 $15 ENTRY to a local Halloween pumpkin patch 3 week event. I also purchased a separate 20 Groupon so my grandchildren could go to the 'Haunted House' house at a lower cost as well. There is no mention anywhere on this Groupon regarding "No Wheelchairs". We planned on going on Thursday night before Halloween, so we met early (5:00) for dinner and as were leaving I decided to double check the age which was appropriate for the haunted house. My grandchildren (7,8) were super excited about the outing. I called them and got the message machine and they had closed early - 6:00. So I called the next day and asked a few more questions to find out that the whole Halloween pumpkin patch place was not good for anyone in a wheelchair. I believe that it should've been stated upfront that handicapped people would not be able to enter this environment.I contacted Groupon before the event was even over with my concerns regarding the lack of hours the place was open and finding out that I could not even attend. Groupon told me "too bad", we do not refund after 14 days. They got me again! I am out $50 AND even more important I disappointed my grandchildren! I believe that Groupon is 100% into making themselves rich at the expense of the retailers & consumers. Every retailer I have ever used a Groupon has asked me "please don't use a Groupon in the future come on in and I'll give you the same price". They do not care about the consumer nor the retailer. I know they have allowed financial ruins to retailers because of the Groupon deal that they were convinced was so great for them by a good salesman. Talk to your retailer the next time you consider a Groupon purchase and I bet that the retailer would happily give you the same price as is stated in the Groupon deal. What value is Groupon bringing to any retailer? The only value they bring to a retailer is they have a lot more money to advertise and they gamble on a huge percentage of people who buy the Groupon to never use it and especially before the expiration date. It just sounds so good to be true and from my many experiences, I have learned it is!! So my last words are if you ever see a Groupon for anything you think you'd want contact the retailer FIRST and ask them for the same deal - I bet you the price of the Groupon that they will happily give you the deal. NOW blocked from my inbox is Groupon anything!
